  1. What is CODAF?
    Compiere is the most popular Open Source ERP + CRM package originally written for working with Oracle database. CODAF, short for Compiere + Daffodil DB, replaces Oracle with Daffodil DB in Compiere. For more information, please see: http://www.daffodildb.com/codaf.html.

  2. Is there any pre-requisite for running CODAF?
    No, you just need to have a JVM.

    The three essential components required for successful CODAF installation are Compiere binary, Compiere database, and Daffodil DB. These components can be downloaded from our download page.

  6. Is there any automated installation package for CODAF available?
    Yes, the automated installation package integrates three separate components (Compiere binary, Compiere database, and Daffodil DB) and the GUI installer that guides the user through the installation process - first for Daffodil DB and then for Compiere.

  7. What are the features introduced in the recently launched CODAF v1.0 with Daffodil DB 4.1?
    • Fully automated installation

  8. Is the automatic installation package free? 
    No, the ready-to-use Compiere (with fully automated installation and a bundled database) has a introductory price of USD 100 (for 10 users). 20 & 20+ user packs are also available.

  9. Is there any free version available?
    Yes, the previous version of Compiere-compatible Daffodil DB remains free for the Compiere community. Also, the community will be able to build CODAF (for free) with v4.1 (the latest version of Daffodil DB), once we launch it formally. In this case, the users have to download the separate components from http://www.daffodildb.com/daffodil-compiere.html . We have kept a nominal price only for the automated installation package. Compiere community can request for a free license of Daffodil DB for Compiere at: Compiere License Request.

  10. Is there any evaluation version available for automated installation package?
    Yes, Compiere community can use the evaluation version of automated installation package for 21 days.

  11. From where can I download the automated installation package for CODAF?
    The ready-to-use Compiere (with fully automated installation and a bundled database) can be downloaded from http://www.daffodildb.com/daffodil-compiere.html.

  12. What is the licensing policy of CODAF?
    Keeping our promise with the Compiere community, Compiere compatible version of Daffodil DB is offered free of cost. You can request for a free license of Daffodil DB by dropping us a line at Compiere License Request. But the ready-to-use Compiere (with fully automated installation and a bundled database) is priced at USD 100 (for 10 users).

  13. What is the meaning of " The price of CODAF is $100 for 10 users"?  
    This means that you can install Compiere client on any number of machines. However, at a time only 10 concurrent users can access CODAF from a single server for a license fee of $100.

    We offer three modes of support:

    • Daffodil DB is much affordable when compared to Oracle.
    • CODAF is easy to install because it comes with an fully automated installation package, which integrates the three separate components Compiere database, Daffodil DB, and  JBOSS in a GUI installer. The GUI installer guides the user through the installation process of CODAF.
    • CODAF includes a pure Java database (Daffodil DB), which is 100% platform independent.

  17. Is One$DB compatible with Compiere?
    No, Compiere is only compatible with Daffodil DB.

  18. Does CODAF has support for languages other then English?
    Yes, CODAF v2.0 (Alpha) supports Unicode character coding system (designed to support the worldwide interchange, processing, and display of the written texts of the diverse languages). Therefore, CODAF users will be able to translate data into various languages supported by Compiere. You can allow different users to have forms and reports in their own language. The user can even print all documents in his/her native languages. They can also translate multiple languages on different systems simultaneously.
