CODAF is a combo pack of Compiere and Daffodil DB. It is equipped with an integrated GUI
installer, which facilitates the smooth and fast installation of Compiere with Daffodil DB.
Earlier small-to-medium sized enterprises (SME) had no option except to depend on expensive
databases to run the free to use Compiere in production environment. There was no open source or
suitably priced database available in the market that could provide Compiere compatibility. But
this was possible when CODAF came into existence. CODAF provided the Compiere community - the most
required database alternative.
Presently, CODAF is available in three versions to the Compiere community:
- CODAF v1.0 - This stable release is compatible with Compiere v2.5.1f.
- CODAF v1.5 - This stable release of CODAF is compatible with Compiere v2.5.2c.
- CODAF v2.0 - This beta release of CODAF is compatible with Compiere v2.5.2 and comes with multi-language support.
- CODAF CLI (ALPHA) - This release installs CODAF using a Command Line Interface (CLI).

What is Daffodil DB?
Daffodil DB is a JDBC 3.0 and SQL 99 compliant Java database. It has been designed to handle
complex computing environments that demand a robust, scalable, and high-performance RDBMS, which
can operate across platforms. Daffodil DB is written entirely in Java. Its JDBC driver has been
certified for J2EE applications by Sun Microsystems.
